What’s Your Cell-By Date?
Open your mind to infinite possibility
“Youth is a circumstance you can’t do anything about. The trick is to grow up without getting old” – Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959)
“An inordinate passion for pleasure is the secret of remaining young” – Oscar Wilde (1854-1900)
Last time I talked about ‘mindset’. Let’s be clear, from the research I’ve done I’m certain ‘age’ or ‘end of life’ are not outside our control.
As I said before this may sound a bit ‘revolutionary’ or just plain crazy but shaking things up does seem to be the theme this decade – more so than I’ve seen since 1947 but possibly not as outrageous as times before.
It doesn’t really matter how many years of life you’ve achieved. Could be 20, could be 70 but it’s important we, you and I, discuss certain long held and deeply embedded beliefs. Beliefs like the world is flat or the earth revolves around the sun, not facts.
The thing is though you or I don’t need to persuade anyone else. What others believe is their own business. It’s just about opening the mind.
We get our beliefs somewhere in the first place and what’s more, usually, the people who promoted them took every measure they could to enforce them for reasons best known to themselves but primarily to maintain and hold power over those they felt they needed to control and eventually, except in some isolated places, this became everyone. You can see it happening in the world now – a constant battle between conflicting beliefs.
So where are we now?
Pretty much everyone on the planet believes implicitly their life is going to ‘run out’ when they reach ‘a certain age’ which usually varies from 50 to 90 or more depending on where they are and the culture they embrace.
You and I have a choice. We can either ‘go with the flow’ and accept this or do something different and reject the whole concept.
Why would we want to do this? We can accept the false ‘status quo’ and blame everything ‘going wrong’ with us on ‘age’ or embrace the concept of being able to live healthily however long we want – to take control of our lives.
It’s not as most people perceive just a matter of ‘healthy living’ although this does play a part bus as I said earlier it’s all about ‘mindset’ and what creates mindset – ‘belief’.
ow don’t get me wrong, this isn’t a five minute job, or a 21 day exercise or even a 90 day enterprise. It requires ‘working on’ because the belief we will die well within 90-100 years or earlier is so deeply embedded in our psyche its going to take focus and work to remove.
Here’s the thing – we have to ‘let go’ – fully let go of the deeply embedded beliefs we have about ageing and end of life. As I said dying is not an inevitable occurrence at a certain age. I described the sources which explain ‘why’ last time but we now need to look at the ‘how’.
How do we adjust our mindset to get rid of this totally false premise?
Before you or I can start to accept these ‘outrageous’ ideas we need to take on the notion unlimited longevity and ‘healthspan’ is possible and ‘lifespan’ is not limited or fixed.
There will be resistance to changing this belief. People ask, “how is society going to work if the population continues to grow and people aren’t ‘leaving’” and this is just the first of many ‘how’ questions. Science fiction writers have thought about this for some time but usually come up with negative scenarios.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll introduce some of the ‘how’ techniques you can use if you want to significantly extend your life and health but right now I invite you to take on board the concept this is really possible and an option for life you can choose should you wish to explore further.
Meanwhile I commend the two books I mentioned ‘Lifespan’ by David A Sinclair and ‘You can be Younger’ by Marisa Peer, both available from https://thefreedomacademy.org/publications
